Mission
The mission of NJALAS is to provide bold and effective leadership across the state that addresses the educational needs of all students with particular emphasis on Latino youth by building capacity, promoting best practices, and developing partnerships that will support and further our cause.
Purpose
The New Jersey Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents is a professional association that advocates for the continued development and placement of educational leaders who are committed to quality education for the equity and excellence of Latino students.
Support and address the educational needs of Latino students and students of color residing in the State of New Jersey.
Dedicate its effort to network, mentor, support and develop highly effective administrators and superintendents servicing Latino youth.
Support and develop various social and educational programs and charitable initiatives which will promote and increase the quality of education of all children in the State of New Jersey and energize public education.
Support, assist, and coordinate with the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents in its efforts at the national level that assures every school in America effectively serves the educational needs of all students with an emphasis on Latino youth
Goals
Being the recognized state leader in providing strategies to help all education administrators eliminate the achievement gap for Latino students and students of color.
Work cooperatively with other state and national administrative organizations to promote and advocate for quality equitable education.
Provide mentoring, professional development, networking, and career enhancement opportunities to aspiring Superintendents and Administrators who serve Latino students.
Provide professional assistance to community groups, the Board of Education, and other leaders in related fields of education.
Initiate research and provide data necessary to develop educational programs that meet the educational needs of the community served by the membership.
Address legislative and policy issues.
To serve as a source of information for employment opportunities in school administration.
Begin a marketing campaign for social media outreach.
